There are 2 codes for myelomeningocele repair - CPT 63704 - <5 cm diameter myelomeningocele repair and 63706 - >5cm diameter myelomeningocele repair. My question is this - if the Op Report indicates 5 cm diameter myelomeningocele repair - which do I use and WHERE do I find this information? I have searched extensively to see what the rule is and can't find one - do I use the unlisted code or can I use the "more extensive" rule?? (i.e., 63704 would be absorbed into 63706 because everything is the same but 63706 is the higher level of specificity?

Thanks for any help/guidance you can give me!!
