Colpo was performed due to PAP with ASCUS, + HPV Path report finding from Colpo is below. My question...ICD 10 directs metaplasia cervix (squamous) to dysplasia, cervis. Is it correct to use N87.9 even with the path report notation of no dysplastic epithelium identified?
Diagnosis
A . Cervix, 2:00, biopsy -
normal cervix; no dysplastic epithelium identified.
B . Endocervix, curettage -
atypical squamous metaplasia;
no dysplastic epithelium identified.

Thank you!

N87.9 would not be correct since this is a benign diagnosis, not one for dysplasia which is not. I would go with the reason for the colpo rather than the path report in this instance.
