Pt had a TVH & suprapubic bladder sling in December. Returns with "Prominent fold/rugae on right anterior vaginal mucosa" following procedure. This is painful during intercourse and causing problems with emptying bladder. I was not given anymore details. I need help finding a CPT code for excision and would ICD-10 codes be N99.89,L76.82? Thank you for your help.

First of all you do not know for sure it was a complication of the original procedure, but you would not use L76.82 in any case as the vaginal canal is not "skin, subq tissue" for purposes of coding this. It might be N99.89 if this was the result of the original procedure but you will have to ask for more information from the provider. If excess tissue was excised you can only report an unlisted procedure 58999 and maybe compare the work to a hymenectomy. You would not use an integumentary system code for this excision. At any rate, this is all based on supposition. Without background and the op note, I would not code this.
