My patient was supposed to have an operative hysteroscopy, resection of fibroid and D&C. Due to extensive bleeding from the fibroid he could not see the fibroid to remove it so he only ended up doing a Dx hysteroscopy and D&C. What Cpt code am I using for this? 58120 and 58555? Thank You!

58558 is the correct code. Once he uses the hysteroscope at any point during the procedure, the D&C becomes a hysteroscopic D&C even if it was only diagnostic.
