One of my accounts are a group of Radiologists and Interventional Radiologists. Apparently one of them went to a convention and was told the group is losing hundreds of dollars because of these new moderate sedation codes. I know Medicare pays 99152 but 99153 is considered Part A only. We do get paid on it from some insurances. I have been the Senior coder for 21 years. I admit when I am wrong. Someone PLEASE TELL ME IF I AM MISSING SOMETHING and losing dollars on these doctors. Thanks

we bill for the 99153 in addition to the 99152. I don't know where you saw that is is a Part A only.
