Hi Melanie,

I have a patient that has Uterine Carcinosarcoma (MMMT).

The Dr performed Total abdominal Hysterectomy, Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy, Tumor debulking, Omentectomy, Argon Beam ablation.

I am thinking 58953.

Or perhaps another code.

Is there an additional code for the Argon beam Ablation?

Thank you so very much.

Maria

Melanie,

This is the part of the op note about the Argon Beam Ablation.

"Tumor miliary nodules on the right diaphragm were ablated with Argon beam in addition to nodules on the anterior abdominal wall."

Thanks, Maria

I would say it is not separately billable as this method is most often used to stop bleeding during a procedure which would be integral to the work. Check the op note to see the description for this part of the surgery. If for bleeding, it is included.
