The patient came in for an IUD removal which could not be completed due to the strings not being seen and using an ultrasound. The patient then underwent a hysteroscopy to remove the IUD. Do I bill with 58562 even though it wasn't impacted? Or is there a different code I can use? Thank You! Hope all is well!

If it was not impacted, I would report 58555 and 58301 for this removal. On 58555 you can report the T code for the missing strings (T83.32_) and then the Z code for the removal. on 58301.
