Hello Melanie,

The definition of ICD 10 code 036.019X is Maternal care for Rheusus isoimunization. (Maternal care for anti-D [Rh] antibodies, unspecified trimester, not applicable or unspecified)

There is also an ICD 10 code for Prophylactic Rhogam administration Z29.13. (Encounter for prophylactic Rho(D) immune globulin)

Would you code O36.019X ( or applicable #) for every RH negative mother, or just the ones who have proven to develop an antibody against the current fetus or fetus’s blood?

As always thanks for your help.

Maria

Just the ones who have develop an antibody. If given as a prevention from this happening you use the Z code.
