We've been working on getting our doctors to be sure to order the ascan in
the chart vs having a standing order when doing surgery do ascan.

They are wanting our surgery scheduler to do it??? Is it okay for her to
write in the chart ascan ordered per
dr a? That to me still seems like a standing order. The doctor still isn't
mentioning it in his note.

Please advise as to what you would do.

Thanks!!

So what if a doctor dictates and then the tech writes it later. The should
the doctor initial it or can she write ordered Ascan per dr. a?

So what if the doctor does his exam, signs it and Then the tech goes in and
writes it on the actualy exam. Does someone else need to initial it or
should that not be happening. Should the tech be making their own separate
note and Then the doctor sign it?

Docs here want to come up with a stamp, but want the
surg coordinator to do it. So I am in a similiar
situation also. I need it in writing that THEY must
note it in chart not her.
