You are kidding me!! We were charging quite a bit more than that! Where did you find that information?

Yes, it is good news to finally have a code for corneal topo; however,
reimbursement according to Medicare 2007 fee schedule is $28, unadjusted.
Unilateral or bilateral. However, it surely beats using the unspecified and
doing all the documentation.

Don't get too excited about the topo - from what I've read we will only
be reimbursed about $28.00. I haven't checked out the new Cat III codes
yet.

We received our CPT books and of course went through to see what codes
have been deleted and added. To my suprise we now have a code for
Corneal Topography!! I'm anxious to see what RVUs get assigned to the
code.

Also in the Category 3 codes there is a code 0065T but I'm not sure what
it actually is. Does anyone know what it is? I have a feeling that we
won't do it because we are so general.

There is two others too 0123T and 0124T.

When did/does this code take effect? Looked at the cigna LCD and the code is still 92499 (effective 7/1/06). Thanks.

Noridian Medicare currently has a medical policy for Computerized Corneal
Topography, so I assume the codes listed in the policy will be covered. You may
want to check the website of your carrier and look under Medical Policies.

Does anyone know what diagnostic codes will be
considered acceptable for the new topography code?
