Hello List,
I have to type the whole report (It's not too long)

ULTRASOUND OF THE ABDOMEN

CLINICAL HISTORY: Evaluate for splenic vein thrombosis.

FINDINGS: Present ultrasound was performed with dedicated attention to the splenic vein. Previous CT of the abdomen had suggested collaterals around the splenic hilum and questionable splenorenal shunt.

Present Doppler exam is mildly limited due to overlying bowel artifacts. The portal confluence and the distal splenic vein is well visualized and shows normal flow. We can also trace the splenic vein to the splenic hilum which also shows normal flow focally.

Unfortunately, the mid segment of the splenic vein was obscured by bowel gas. However, given the fact that there is flow noted both proximally and distally, the mid segment is presumed to be patent as well. Multiple enlarged vessels are noticed near the splenic hilum, but Doppler and spectral analysis shows these to be arterial in nature.

IMPRESSION: No sonographic evidence of splenic vein thrombosis.

Thanks for all your help.

I think the 93976, but can't agree with the 76705. There was not a single mention of any organs in the abdomen. Only the veins.

I would use some type of screening code.
